Inner Lighthouse Nelson Bay

The wedding is at the Inner Lighthouse Nelson Bay. The lighthouse is a historical site that overlooks the Karuah River Heads. The site is now operated as the headquarters for the volunteer Marine Rescue Service for Nelson Bay. The site does not allow for any glass or glitter so please respect the site and follow the guidance of the staff that will be supporting our wedding.
The café on site is closing to the public at 1pm. So please plan on arriving between 1:15pm and 1:45pm for the ceremony to begin at 2pm. The ceremony is planned to finish at or about 2:30pm.
Following the ceremony, we will provide lunch at the café on site. As the site is heritage listed and has restrictions on what can be brought to the venue; we will be providing some alcohol (beer and red/white wine) for a toast and to enjoy with lunch. The café will cease serving at 4pm. People are welcome to remain on site after 4 pm but we intend moving to Diggers RSL Club for informal drinks and socials after the event for those wishing to join us.
There will be seats provided for guests on the lawn during the wedding service.
There are a few allocated spots for those needing easy access parking. We will reach out to get number plates and details for those that will be allocated spots.
For everyone else parking is limited, so please help us help you, by car pooling where possible. There should be capacity if you all can carpool (try for 3 or more) in each car. There is no guarantee that there will not be tourists parked in the hilltop carpark, but generally once the café closes the carpark does clear out. Overflow parking is available at the bottom of the hill or at Diggers. If there are some that would like to coordinate some shuttling from Diggers that would really help prevent anyone having to walk up the hill to the Inner Lighthouse. The walk is not long, but it is steep.

Dress for the wedding is smart casual. It may be hot so please consider a hat and or sunscreen as there is no cover where the ceremony is being conducted. The café offers shade or opportunities for guests to dine in the sunshine (fingers crossed)!
There will be a wishing well at the café for our guests to leave cards or a gift should they wish.
We won’t have a dedicated photographer at the event, so feel free to take pictures and share your favorites! We’ve set up an event page on Wedibox where you can upload your photos and download those shared by others. You can also leave audio and text messages on the site. Lunch
1. Chicken Delight Wrap: poached chicken, avocado, sprouts, lettuce, walnuts and curry mayonnaise.
2. Avocado Smash (VE option available) with fetta, cherry tomatoes, rocket, onion, balsamic dressing and lemon on sourdough toast.
3. Beef Burger with tomato, beetroot, carrot, cheese, lettuce and BBQ sauce served on brioche bun.
4. Vegan Falafel Salad Bowl (VE) with salad, beetroot, avocado, olives and green goddess dressing.
5. Goats Cheese & Onion Quiche served with salad.
Kids Meals
1. Chicken Burger with lettuce and mayo on brioche bun.
2. Cheese Toastie.
Desert
1. The Inner Light Cafe's "World famous" Scones with cream and jam.
2.Passionfruit Cheesecake.
